(NASHVILLE, Tenn.)   On Tuesday January 20, Americans will witness the peaceful transition of power when our 44th president is sworn into office.  President-elect Barack Obama is calling for January 19, the Reverend Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr.'s birthday, as a day of service for all Americans.  As part of this call to action, Goodwill Industries of Middle Tennessee has joined with other non-profit organizations in the area and invites Tennesseans to give of themselves on this day of remembrance. 
 
The Presidential Inaugural Committee has created a website filled with information about the upcoming inauguration and access and links to various events throughout the area. We encourage you to visit this LINK and click on the Find an Event tab. There you will see a robust listing of Goodwill stores and donation sites throughout the area which will be participating in this day of service.  Please consider taking your gently used clothing and household goods to the Goodwill donation site near you and/or shop in one of our stores where you will find a vast array of items.  Your support of Goodwill allows the organization to fulfill its mission.
