(Nashville, Tenn.) - It's that time of year again! It's time to clean out your closets and spruce up your space now that spring has arrived. Not sure what to do with the clutter that's collecting dust or those items that haven't been worn, used or played with in the last year? Goodwill is happy to accept your gently-used clothing and household goods. And if you are taking part in a neighborhood garage sale, be certain to contact Goodwill ahead of time to arrange pickup of the items that don't sell. That blouse or plate you not longer want can be sold in our retail stores and help fund the job training programs and career placement services that we offer in the communities we serve.
By donating to Goodwill you are helping our clients, your friends and neighbors, learn new job skills to support their families and the ability to earn a paycheck and save for the future. Did you know that more than 84 percent of the revenue from Goodwill retail stores goes directly into Goodwill's employment and training programs and that more than 80 percent of the employees at Goodwill Industries of Middle Tennessee are mission-related? As you clean out your closets, please remember to make an economic investment in your community, and donate items you no longer need to Goodwill.
Spring Cleaning Guidelines and Helpful Hints:
Empty your closets first and then divide the items into three piles; Goodwill, items to keep and items to trash.
Be certain electronics are in good, working condition by testing them before donating. (If electronic items don't work, be sure to dispose of them properly.)
