(NASHVILLE, Tenn.)  –  As a part of Goodwill Industries of Middle Tennessee’s community relations efforts, the company supports the American Cancer Society and the MAKING STRIDES Against Breast Cancer walk, which will be held Saturday, October 24th at LP Field in Nashville.  This is the third year that Goodwill has supported this event and the first year that Goodwill's employees will take part.  The Goodwill Walkers urge everyone to raise money for breast cancer research.

MAKING STRIDES Against Breast Cancer is a spirited five mile noncompetitive walk to save lives.  It is the American Cancer Society’s premier event to raise awareness and dollars to fight breast cancer.  It is also designed to honor breast cancer survivors and remember those friends and family we have lost to the disease. All the funds raised from this walk are dedicated to breast cancer research, education, advocacy, and patient support programs.  Last year more than 15,000 walkers in Nashville raised more than $625,000 for the program.

Goodwill customers will find promotional brochures for the event in Nashville-area Goodwill retail stores. Participants do not have to pay a registration fee or raise a minimum amount of money.  Participants of all ages are welcome.   If you have any questions about the event or how to become involved, please click here.
