Dan
While driving on an icy road near Chattanooga one wintry night, Dan swerved to avoid an oncoming car. His truck rolled several times, landing in a ditch off the road, and during the tumble his left arm was severed. He was knocked unconscious. Days went by before he was found by hunters. Dan says it was a blessing. “It could have been a lot worse.”
After rehab, “I was missing an arm. No one wanted to hire me.” After two years of job rejections, Dan went into Career Solutions in Jackson, filled out an application and, “Doggone if they didn’t hire me as a donations attendant the next day.” Ironically, when Dan accepts your donations, Goodwill gives those items a new life, just as Goodwill gave Dan a new life and renewed purpose.
