Goodwill will celebrate the grand opening of its new Springfield store on Thursday, July 17 at 9:00 a.m. The store, at 2008 Memorial Boulevard in the Centre Stage Shopping Center, replaces the now closed Springfield store which was just one mile north. All employees from the original location have transferred to the new site and an additional seven retail and processing jobs have been added.
The new location is 30,800 square feet, with more than 22,000 of that space dedicated to the retail store. The site also includes a processing facility and Donations Express Center, which will employ four attendants.
Goodwill’s Springfield Career Solutions center will also relocate to the new site with a career counselor available to help anyone who needs assistance finding a job. Career Solutions is a full-service program which provides free job training services to those who are unemployed and may or may not have a disability or disadvantage. There are 15 Career Solutions offices located throughout the 46 counties served by Goodwill Industries of Middle Tennessee. The Career Solutions office in Springfield will be open from 7:30 a.m. until 4:00 p.m. Monday through Friday.
The ribbon-cutting for the grand opening will take place at 8:45 a.m. with members of the Robertson County Chamber of Commerce, Goodwill senior staff and store employees. The store will open for business at 9:00 a.m.
