It was a shoppers’ delight when the newly relocated Goodwill store in Springfield celebrated its grand opening on Thursday, June 17. Shoppers lined up outside the store Thursday morning as members of the Robertson County Chamber of Commerce welcomed the newest tenant to the Centre Stage Shopping Center at 2008 Memorial Boulevard in Springfield, and then rushed inside to find the best bargains, when the doors opened for business at 9:00 a.m.

The new store not only means a larger space with 22,000 square feet dedicated to retail, it also houses a Career Solutions Center to help folks in Robertson County hone their job search skills.  In keeping with Goodwill’s mission of providing employment and training opportunities for people who have disabilities and others who have trouble finding and keeping jobs, all employees from the original Springfield store transferred to the new location, and an additional seven new employees have been hired to work at the site.

The new Springfield store and attended donation center are open Monday through Saturday, 9:00 a.m. until 8:00 p.m. and Sunday from 11:00 a.m. until 6:00 p.m.  The Career Solutions office is open Monday through Friday from 7:30 a.m. until 4:00 p.m.
