Beginning Monday, August 23, Goodwill has a new partner for home pickups.  College Hunks Hauling is now a secondary donation pickup service for homeowners with large items to donate. 

We’ve received many calls over the years from donors who want to give items from their home but were not able to transport them to one of our Donations Express Centers due to the size or bulk of the items.  The donations team has had to turn down many of these requests due to the high cost of transportation.  The partnership with College Hunks Hauling, which is fee-based, resolves the issue of time and expenses for the company, while giving our donors another way to give it to Goodwill.  

Our special projects team will arrange for home pickups under special circumstances, including estate pickups, when a business donates office furnishings or during neighborhood yard sales.  When a donor calls asking for home pickup, and they don’t fall into the approved categories, the special projects team offers suggested Donation Express Centers for drop-off points.  It is only if those arrangements aren’t convenient for donors that we will refer them to College Hunks Hauling.

College Hunks Hauling has agreed to provide discounted services for Goodwill donors living in Davidson, Williamson, Wilson and Rutherford counties.  This new service gives donors the opportunity to give to Goodwill without having to leave their home.

Here’s how it works:

•    College Hunks Hauling will give Goodwill donors a 48-hour priority, fee-based option, when you  
arrange an appointment to have items removed from your home.  
•    In addition to items designated for Goodwill, College Hunks Hauling will also remove large appliances, sleeper sofas, mattresses and any other items Goodwill does not accept, no matter where those items are located on the property.
•    College Hunks Hauling guarantees donors will be notified within two hours of their arrival for your   
convenience and service.
•    All items that are picked up by College Hunks Hauling will be brought to specific Donation Express Centers within the four approved counties.  
•    Attendants will choose which items are of store quality and will be sold by Goodwill.
•    Items not deemed worthy for our stores will be recycled by College Hunks Hauling.
