Thieves are targeting Goodwill’s donation sites after business hours. The company’s surveillance cameras caught two brazen crooks who filled their silver minivan with items left by well-meaning donors at the loading dock of the Murfreesboro Goodwill store after 9:00 p.m. on Sunday, September 26. The store, and its Donation Express Center, closed at 6:00 p.m.
The thieves, a man and woman, took baby clothes, car seats and other gently-used items that had been left at the loading dock at the Murfreesboro store. It took less than two minutes for the couple to load their haul of stolen goods and drive away.
Goodwill urges donors to bring their gently-used items to donations sites during regular business hours, when an attendant is available to help unload their vehicle, and to provide a receipt for tax purposes. To find the nearest donation site, and the hours each site is open, please click here.
Murfreesboro police are investigating and Goodwill will prosecute to the full extent of the law.
