If you enjoy hands-on work, you might want to register for Goodwill's security guard training.

After completing the program, you will be a certified security officer and eligible to work for a wide variety of businesses and institutions.

The program has several components, including eight hours of classroom training, learning various safety procedures and a test. You will also receive First Aid Certification from the Red Cross.

To take and complete the class, Goodwill performs a criminal background check on each student to ensure each student meets the Tennessee Department of Commerce and Insurance's standards.  For non-Goodwill clients, the class includes a $200 fee.
